France, Le Mans Building People Story

Starting Line

I want to take a short break from processing pictures of Sicily (which I'll get back to eventually), and post a few picture from an event I took part in this year: “Les 24 heures du Mans Rollers”. This event is a 24-hour roller skating endurance competition in Le Mans, on the very same track the French motorcycle Grand Prix happens every year. Some people race in teams (up to ten people), while others race in pair or race solo, which really is an impressive performance.

That picture was taken shortly before the start of the race. Just like for the motorbike 24-hour event, contestants are lined up on one side of the track and their Rollerblades are on the other side. When the race starts, they all rush towards their Rollerblades, put them on, and start rolling away. It's much fun to watch.

  • Thanks for the explanation ! I was wondering where the cars (or motorbikes) were, and what in the world were all those people doing on the road !!
I still feel something is missing on the road though, it's a bit odd but rather fun ^_^

    I liked!

  • Thanks you two. Without an explanation I guess it would have been hard to understand the scene :D
